February 29th, 2016
The Leadership Council of Doon is excited to announce our global/ local fundraising initiative. As part of the community, we are pleased to support the Syrian refugees who have come to live in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Our school community, students, teachers, support staff and administrators want to take action and help our new neighbours!
We are asking for your help with this initiative. Over the course of the next two weeks, February 29th to March 11th, we will be collecting household items (i.e. furniture, clothing, and toiletries) that are needed in the homes of our new neighbours.
The week of February 29th we are collecting new or gently used adult and children’s clothing and shoes (specifically spring appropriate apparel). During the second week, March 7th, we will be collecting hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste/toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo, etc.
All gently used furniture may be brought into the school anytime during the two weeks and will be stored on the stage. You may want to let the school know ahead of time when you will be bringing furniture so that we can assist you.
All donations that you can make to this very important campaign will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you Doon Community for your generous support of our new neighbours.
