On Earth Day, students are invited to Walk for the Earth!

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), in partnership with Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR), encourages students, parents, families and caregivers to take part in Walk for the Earth on April 22!

Walk for the Earth

Why Walk for the Earth? Participating helps to:

  • Cut down on emissions and traffic near schools
  • Support students in learning about alternative modes of transportation
  • Encourage an appreciation for the outdoors

Parents, families and caregivers are encouraged to register their child for the event for the chance to win a Yeti water bottle.

Students Who Don’t Walk to School

These students can participate, too!

  • Students who ride the bus are encouraged to walk to and from their bus stops.
  • Remote learners are encouraged to take some time throughout their day to walk around their neighbourhood.
  • Students who are usually driven are encouraged to use a Drive to 5 map and walk from a few blocks away.
