The Caribou Mathematics Competition is a worldwide online contest that is held six times throughout the school year. We are pleased to offer these contests at Doon again this year.. Contests will be held monthly and students will complete them in the Library or Resource Room (Room 5) during their regularly scheduled Math periods.

The contests are intended for students achieving high level 3 and/or level 4 in Math, but any student with a passion for math is welcome to sign up and complete the contest. Students who sign up are committing to complete all six contests.

Once signed up, students will receive login information. Between the monthly contests, students will be able to log in at home and practise for upcoming contests.

For more information, students are asked to please speak to Ms. Lussier or see the Caribou website at https://cariboutests.com/. “The goals of this contests are to:

  • To improve student’s problem solving techniques by providing a wide variety of challenging math activities suitable for all students in grades 3-12.

  • Motivate students to get back to their school math when a question needed a technique or formula which they did not remember.

  • Show that mathematical puzzles can be fun and that competing in math contests with interactive questions is exciting.”

Our first contest will be held on Thursday, October 19.

Students interested in participating are to sign up in the Guidance Office at the beginning of first break on Thursday, October 12 or Friday, October 13.
