December 6th, 2016
Last Friday, we held a character assembly that focused on empathy and social responsibility. We would like to encourage discussion at home with your child in regards to our empathy and social responsibility assembly. We had a grade 6 student share about her experience having a younger sister with Leukemia. The family received a wish from the Children’s Wish Foundation. Our leadership counsel is running multiple initiatives this December to show empathy and social responsibility. We will be collecting food for the food drive as well as running a bake sale to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. Here are some questions you may discuss with your families to encourage social responsibility and empathy.
- Do we as a family know anybody who has been granted a ‘Children’s Wish Foundation’ wish?
- Why is empathy a good trait to demonstrate and how might we be empathetic to one another?
- What are some of the ways our family shows social responsibility in our own community?
