Thank you Doon P.S. students and staff for your support of our Meal of Fortune weekly lunch program and cinnamon bun sales.
This year we are thrilled to announce that Meal of Fortune raised a total of… $5 339.95!
Our grade eight student committee is proud to make the following donations on behalf of Doon P.S.:
- $ 2500 to Caring Partners Global, a local charity with a global focus helping students and families in Matangwe, Kenya. Our donation will support education, healthcare, life skills and agricultural initiatives with the ultimate goal of self-reliance in the impoverished community.
- $ 1000 to Free the Children, a charity dedicated to the betterment of lives of children in numerous developing countries. Our donation will be used to provide a Mobile Health Clinic in a village.
- $ 200 to Kiva Loans, an organization that uses micro loans to support individual economic initiatives in a variety of developing countries.
- $ 1000 to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Every $500 provides 1500 meals for local families.
- $ 639.95 to The Children’s Wish Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
