We are beginning the discussion with our grade eights around transitioning to grade nine.
All secondary schools will be hosting parent/ guardian information nights. These are great opportunities for parents/ guardians and students to ask questions, learn about the various programs and tour the secondary schools. Doon will be hosting a “Grade 8 to 9 Transition Information Session” for our grade 8 parents and students on Thursday, November 23rd at 7:30pm. At our Doon information night we will cover:
- the timelines for the transiton process
- course slection (electives and compulsory credits)
- secondary school graduation requirements
- magnet programs available in WRDSB (programs at other secondary schools)
- the supports available to students for a smooth transtion
